In order to support its consultancy projects regarding inventory optimization, MÖBIUS uses its methodology called ICAP/M. This methodology, supported by a self-developed optimization application, aims at optimising the customers' inventory process in a short time period and is mainly focused on knowledge transfer regarding inventory strategy and management.
Together with the customer we:
- Calculate the potential cost-savings assuming equal service level
- Look at the processes involved (purchasing, forecasting, etc.) and define quick wins
- Assist the customer in defining a correct segmentation of its articles
- Apply the correct forecasting algorithms according to each segmentation
At the end of the project, MÖBIUS has transferred its knowledge to the customer who is working now with a process that enables him to realise the formerly demonstrated objectives of cost reduction and service level improvement.
